SOUTHKILL can simply be described as an odd couple.
Coming from opposite corners of the world, Guitarist Jason Kerr
(Dunedin, New Zealand) and John Dudley (Syracuse, NY) met through
a classified ad in the Washington City Paper.
Bound together by only a few common musical interests, the two began
experimenting as a two-piece in 2001 and gradually developed a sound
that combines their vastly different influences. The result is what
one friend of the band described as being struck in the stomach
by a "velvet hammer" of pounding rhythms, while being
swept away by a "storm surge of all-encompassing guitars."
Others just feel its like standing at the end of the runway with
a fully laden jumbo jet lifting off into the stratosphere.
